A very rare occasion, when there was heavy ice on the surface of Danube in 2016. Ice was punching to the wall of the ship. recorded with mkh8040 and mkh 30 in ms setup, in addition I dropped a hydrophone into the water and mixed its sound to the stereo recording.

Sometimes A SFX finds me. In this case a bug flew into my lamp. I had to record it right away. (it died unfortunately at the recording session).

I recorded my cat with my aquarius hydophone H2a + neuman km 184. I mixed it and equed it some. The hardets thing was to keep my sweetness calm.

This is how I usually record punch sound source material. I use multiple mics and contact mics too. The sound in this video is unfortunately a camera sound only. I only wanted to show you what and how I use it when impact sounds are needed.
